Speech based applications are quickly becoming ubiquitous in today’s world and age, with diverse applications such as speaker recognition, language recognition for call steering or language translation, speech based security systems, voice analysis for medical diagnosis of speech impediments, speech synthesis for interactive systems, speech enhancement, speech coding and compression etc.; In the advent of mobile phones, it is need of the day to develop various speech applications to hand held devices. In this scenario the workshop aims at introducing the area of Speech Processing as an area of prime research scope. We expect the interaction between researchers and practitioners to happen during the workshop.
